FELICITY, OUR NEW ASSISTANT

Hello!
My name is Felicity Huggins and I am from New Zealand, that’s right I’m a “Kiwi” and by that I don’t mean I’m a bird! While I was studying at Victoria University in New Zealand, Spanish language and culture became my passion.  In 2005 I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Spanish along with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration majoring in International Business and Marketing.  At the end of 2005 I was selected to participate in an international working exchange programme in Medellín Colombia where I worked as an English teacher for 9 months.  Upon my return to New Zealand I worked as a Personal Assistant to the Ambassador of Argentina and as a Project Coordinator for the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (the authoritative body who administer our country’s secondary school assessment system).
Before coming to Spain I kept up my interest in the Spanish language and culture by attending Spanish classes and socialising with Spanish speakers.
So far I am really enjoying my time here, in particular the opportunity to travel, the delicious Spanish food, and my job as a Language Assistant.I appreciate the opportunity my job provides to help students as they continue to grow and advance as their language ability improves.  I have also received a very warm welcome from my school and co-workers for which I am very thankful.
Speaking about Córdoba in particular, I think it is a really beautiful city.  I remember walking along the Puente Romano when I first arrived and thinking to myself, “Wow, I live here!”  I also really like the size of Córdoba; it is about the same as my city.  I also love the food here, tortilla, pinchos de pollo, salmorejo andflamenquín to name a few.
For the rest of my time here, I hope to continue to immerse myself in Spanish life, be a good ambassador for my country, gain more teaching experience and further develop my knowledge of the Spanish language and culture.

HALLOWEEN PARTY

A Halloween Party took place in Fidiana on Thursday, 27th October. Some older students prepared a spooky show to receive their younger fellow students. It all ended up with some games in the playground and a trick or treat candy shower.

LAYLA WELCOME BACK TO FIDIANA

Our language assistant Layla has just arrived from London. She will be with us one more year. We are very glad to see her in Córdoba again.
